Digital Transformation Workshop

The Directorate of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Bureau of Digital Transformation in 2023, organized a Program for Developing Literacy, Culture, and Skill Capacity to Support Digital Transformation within the University of Gadjah Mada. This program aims to provide knowledge about a comprehensive concept of digital transformation, including initiating and supporting initiatives for change starting with human resources.

The activities are divided into two cohorts, with two classes in each implementation, aiming to involve approximately 409 participants, including university and faculty leaders, managerial officials, coordinators within the KPTU environment, Faculty/School Administrative Office Heads, faculty/school coordinators, and representatives from faculties/schools/units.

Dr. Mardhani Riasetiawan, M.T, the Head of the Bureau of Digital Transformation, stated that the success or failure of the digital transformation process is highly dependent on human resources concerning readiness, abilities, critical thinking, innovation, and the willingness to take concrete steps. He emphasized that digital transformation places human resources as the subject of the digital transformation process, strategically positioned for long-term investment in the digital transformation process.

Hence, human resources need to be developed, enhanced, and actively involved in all digital transformation processes within the work units,” he said at the FMIPA UGM Auditorium on Tuesday (26/9).

He explained that the UGM Digital Transformation Program, initiated by the Bureau of Digital Transformation, focuses on developing digital literacy and culture, capacity development, skills, and future skills. This digital transformation process for human resources is seen as nurturing a digital culture (mindset) by starting with a continuous literacy cycle, which is expected to become a habit and an integrated work culture.

This process will also have an impact on the emerging need for capabilities and capacity from human resources to execute transformative processes. To meet the needs for literacy and digital culture development, capacity development, skills, and future skills, a good human resources transformation process with a focus on Digital Transformation is required.

“Of course, the program we develop and implement is in line with and supports the theme of UGM’s 2023 Dies Natalis, which is ‘Harmonious Digital Transformation: Innovation and Humanity’,” he explained.
